The child remembers a researcher who used to tell them stories from animated cartoons. More affectionate than their father, in that white space devoid of any entertainment, the fantasy world that the researcher described and explained was incredibly captivating. The world had been devastated by adult circumstances the child couldn't understand, yet the will of the world continued to evolve even in that desolate situation. Humanity needed something to blind their eyes and bewitch them. Something other than science, at the very least. When the boy opened his eyes, a world far removed from science was there to greet him.
