Han Jiho is the weakest man in the Maw — an F-rank carver paying off the debt the Covenant billed his family for his brother's death. His brother was the First Taster, the legend who first ate monster flesh and lived — until the Nine Seats fed him to the Host that runs the dungeon. Trapped in a collapse, Jiho does the forbidden: he cooks and eats the creature that killed his brother. The HUNGER awakens. Cooked monster dishes grant him their traits — but careless bites raise his Corruption, and at 100 he becomes a monster himself. With his brother's recipe journal and a knife named Last Course, the weakest butcher starts eating his way down 72 courses to expose the traitors at the head of the table.
